چکیده

The development of high-temperature heavy-duty turbine disk materials is critical for improving the overall efficiency combined cycle power plants. An alloy strategy to this end involves superalloys strengthened by ‘compact’ ??-?? coprecipitates. Compact morphology coprecipitates consists a cuboidal ?? precipitate such that ?? discs coat its six {001} faces. present work an attempt investigate microstructure and creep behavior fully aged exhibiting compact We conducted heat treatments, detailed microstructural characterization, testing at 1200 °F (649 °C) on IN718-variant alloy. Our results indicate IN718-27 samples exhibit relatively uniform distribution coprecipitates, irrespective cooling rate. However, ruptured low strains during tests °C). At 100 ksi (689 MPa) load, fails around 0.1% strain, 75 (517 loading causes rupture 0.3% strain. also report extensive intergranular failure in all tested samples, which attributed cracking along grain boundary precipitates. suggest while are indeed thermally stable thermomechanical processing, needs be optimized better strength life.

TENSION/COMPRESSION ASYMMETRY IN CREEP BEHAVIOR OF A Ni-BASED SUPERALLOY

Orientation and temperature dependence of yield stress or CRSS (Critical Resolved Shear Stress) and tension/compression anisotropy of the yield stress or CRSS have been shown by Shah and Duhl (1), Heredia and Pope (2), and Miner et al. (3). Tension/compression asymmetry in the yield strength of Ni-based superalloys has been explained in terms of the “core width effect” (4). Shah and Duhl (5) ob...

Creep of Ni-Al and Ni-Cr-Al Superalloy Foams

The steady-state creep rate of Ni-base metallic foams, with superalloy composition (in wt. pct) Ni7.8∼9.1Al (relative density, ρ = 2.5-2.6) and Ni-13.5∼16.6Cr-5.1∼8.9Al (ρ = 2.8∼3.0), was measured under a range of temperatures (680∼825°C) and applied stresses (0.1∼0.3 MPa), and compared with that of NiAl intermetallic foams (ρ = 5.3). The stress exponent and activation energy are within the exp...

Creep Crack Growth Simulation of Ni-base Superalloy

The purpose of this study is to develop a numerical approach to simulate the creep cracking of a Ni-base superalloy. The approach is based in continuum damage mechanics (CDM) and uses the classic Kachanov-Rabotnov constitutive equations for creep deformation and damage evolution. Creep damage takes the form of defects such as microcracks, cavities, voids, etc. A numerical crack growth algorithm...

The stress concentration of In718 superalloy after friction welding and compare with Mar-M247 and In718 welded joints

Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new method that the joining is carried out by friction between two metals and heat creation. The stress concentration phenomena in welded joint cause the stress increasing in welded zone. In this research, modeling and analysis of similar junction of IN718 and Mar-M247 and non-similar junction of IN718-Mar-M247 superalloys were performed by ANSYS Software and fi...
